Welcome Letter from our OAAA President

Hello,
Welcome to OAAA! Fondly called “O-triple A.”
OAAA was first established in 2015 by a small group of academic advisors and others who saw a need for a statewide organization dedicated to serving higher education in Oregon. Since then, it has grown to include nearly 500 professionals from across Oregon who represent a diverse range of colleges and universities as well as job titles including academic advisors and counselors, success coaches, and career experts. Whatever our positions, we all share a common goal: to help undergraduate students achieve success. That is, at the root of all that we do, we aim to help students explore, set, pursue, and achieve their educational and professional dreams and goals.
I am excited and honored to serve as your OAAA president this year. I am joined by an amazing team of newly-elected OAAA officers and two phenomenal OAAA members who have volunteered to be co-chairs of the OAAA 2020 state drive-in conference this year. Together, we have big plans for OAAA this year. These include OAAA applying becoming an allied member of NACADA, adding more member features to the OAAA website, and organizing the annual drive-in conference in June, 2020.
Let’s get started! If you have not already, consider becoming an OAAA member today! Get involved! We need your energy, ideas, and vision to grow OAAA into an organization that benefits all of us professionally and, as a result, our students as well.

Kind regards,
Andrea
