NACADA Region 8 2020 Preconference Workshop Proposals
Deadline: Tuesday, October 1.
Advisers, what are you passionate about?
Are you knowledgeable in adviser training and do you want to share your ideas through activities and rich discussion? Do you have experience building programs that are supporting student success on your campus? Are you excited to share your ideas about new strategies or approaches to advising? Do you need more than the usual 45 minute session to truly share your knowledge through a hands-on learning experience?
Now through October 1st, Region 8 is accepting proposals for preconference workshop sessions.
Not sure what a preconference workshop is?
These are highly participatory sessions that can last from 2-5 hours. Due to the length of a preconference workshop, presenters are expected to include a lecture, small and large group activities and a question and answer period as part of their presentation. These workshops work best with very hands-on and topic-specific materials, activities, strategies and techniques that participants can effectively use.
Please join us in Victoria BC, March 12 -14, 2020 at the regional conference. This year’s conference theme is “Make is Happen. Make it Matter.” All presentation topics are welcome and proposals will be selected based on their relevance to the conference theme, current advising issues, research, practice, and innovations. We look forward to reading your preconference proposal submissions. The preconference submission deadline is October 1st. Submit your proposal online here.
